What we believe

We are a friendly email community for visually impaired Christians. Ordinary people supporting each other in our daily walk with Jesus. Echurch-UK is non-denominational, consisting of regular churchgoers and others who find it difficult to join a church of their own. We all seek to follow Jesus in our daily life, and to trust him as our Lord and Saviour.

We believe:

  • That there is one true God who lives eternally in three persons - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
  • That God, through his love, grace and sovereignty, is almighty in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world.
  • That God has revealed himself to man through his one and only Son, Jesus Christ; who was born of the virgin Mary, and was truly divine and truly human, yet without sin.
  • That Jesus Christ died on the Cross in our place; to pay for our sins, defeat evil and to reconcile us with God. Because of this, anyone who repents of their sins and believes and trusts in Him, will not die, but have eternal life.
  • That on Easter Friday, Jesus was crucified, died and was buried. On the third day, God raised Him from the dead. He ascended into Heaven to sit at the right-hand of God the Father, where He is our sole advocate and the only Saviour of the world.
  • That when Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit to be our helper and comforter; to convict us of our sins, show us that He is our Lord and Saviour, transform us into His likeness and build up His Church.
  • That our Heavenly Father has created everyone, male and female, in His own image; to love, be holy and to care for creation. Yet we are corrupted by sin. With the leading and help of the Holy Spirit, we seek to live the way that God intends, by valuing our own lives, those of other people and the created world around us.
  • That the Bible is the inspired Word of God. Every part of it is God-breathed and vital for showing us truth, correcting our mistakes and helping us live in the way which God intends.
  • That the Church, the body of Christ both local and universal, is a priesthood of all believers. It is given life by the Holy Spirit and is endowed with the Holy Spirit's gifts to worship God, proclaim the gospel, promote justice and act with love to all.
  • That Jesus Christ will return, when we least expect Him, in a personal and visible way. He will come to judge everyone, both the living and the dead and His glorious Kingdom will have no end.
